Well its not that new, but people dont seem to know it. So here goes.

You are not allowed to have a commercial signature unless you are a supporter of the site, or a Moderator. You can contact me about becoming a sponsor. Its not fair to our other advertisers, nor me who pays for this (free) website.

The only compay links you can have in your sig is your personal production website, or personal website, an ISARA link if you want to support them, or a link for your DVXfest movie.

Thanks everyone, and hope you understand.

Jarred.

yes of course.. you can pimp DVXuser or its mods all you want ha ha ha. Terry you know you probally could get away with whatever you wanted anyways. heh heh heh.

Thanks, Jarred! :)

Does promoting DVXfest films only apply to 'current' DVXfests, and once that festival is closed then the banner would need to be deleted?

promoting DVXfest for people to go vote for your film during competiton is OK, 100%..

Promoting an extended entry film FOR SALE after the competition is over is of course different.

Remember.. there is no entry fee for the film festival, I pay for everything (including some of the prizes) out of my pocket.. so its just not fair to me to pay out of pocket for you to sell your film for free.

Make sense?

Totally makes sense. And although it's not being asked for, and probably not needed as you know I didn't do it on purpose or with deceitful intentions, I'm sorry for crossing the line with my SPARROW thread.

Thanks again Jarred for all you do here. You're a good man.

just to be clear.. if your sig links to your own companies website and your not selling something.. its totally fine. By commercial i mean advertising a product or a direct service.

Just a stupid little question here. Is making a thread like "My new movie XXXX is out! Buy it for only 5$" or something illegal too? Is advertising in threads considered advertising?

yes yes yes and yes miniman. there is a topic called userfilms where you can sell your movie. If you gotta ask, it probally is.

So, just for clarification, may I assume that I won't get in trouble for placing a banner for a personal film (not for sale) that has a thread on the forums, but was not part of a Fest?

Nah, you're fine to do that, as long as the banner still stays within banner regulations, and the film's not for sale.
