A while back I showed you guys a website that I was working on called CommercialPitch.com. It is a contest site for people who shoot or aspire to shoot commercials. You gave me great feedback and now that things have changed I would like you to take another look and possibly get involved and submit a commercial.

I'm looking for more feedback and some good entries to the contest. The contest submission ends sometime in the later part of '08.

this is an interesting idea. i think there is at least one other place doing something similar. i just looked in my email for it and i can't find it.

anyways. this could be cool. here's my critiques:

1) the contest period is too long. people will lose interest in coming back, and probably entering.
2) the contest is too unfocused. i think you would be better of doing 4 contests over a year and splitting the prize money up in smaller chunks. pick a product category OR a them for each (e.g. toilet paper, beer, car, baby clothes, etc.)

i could probably go on way too long on this, but those are the big, high level, issues i have with what you have going on right now.

it's a great outlet, and a great idea, so i wish you much success!

I believe the reason we chose a longer contest period is because it is a challenge for us to get the word out and it will take some time before there are enough entries to justify the large prize money.
To answer you point about being unfocused this is a 'Launch' contest. That is why it is broad in nature. As it progresses we will be doing contests for specific products and hopefully specific companies.

We are hiring a publicist to spread the word.

My question to the forum....
Does anyone on this forum think that they will be submitting a commercial?

Just to clarify the contest further... we are hoping to get enough entries by June or July and then the voting will begin.

We are looking for video professionals to submit entries for any product branded or not. This will qualify you to win up to $10,000 first prize.
