No pressure to watch this, or give feedback ... not really even sure if there's a better place to post this or not.

Anyway, most of you have probably already seen this, but John Hudson had brought up an excellent point ... ALL of my transitions were disolves to the next clip ... got old, fast.

This is a family vacation video that I plan to add to an editing portfolio. It's not color corrected, which I'll probably just use MB Filmic across the whole thing, but here's a low res working draft clip: www.eefilm.com/impact/draft/disneyland.wmv

If you think it's crap, please don't be afraid to say so. Any helpful feedback is welcome.

cool effects. the polaroids were a nice touch as were the green zoomy-in kind of things.

did you do all of this in Vegas? nice editing!

It should be posted under the appropriate camera catagory, not under the editor catagory.

Sirius, I thought about that, but there's not a section for cheap consumer JVC's. :cheesy:

This was all shot on a $359 (talked Best Buy down to $280-290) nearly palm sized JVC ... I purchased it primarily for capture to save my DVX heads, but it's much easier to take on personal trips that luggin' that DVX pack around.

Thisiswells, thanks. All done in Vegas, with the exception of the following: Flame/explosion is an Artbeats clip. I created a white Poloroid mask size/shape in Photoshop 7.0 along with the green zoomy masks/things. Everything else is pure vegas.

BTW, I've seen you in the Vegas forum several times now, but thought you were a pure Mac/FCP user? Just curious.

Congrats, Norm – you’ve shown that those who insist Vegas’s titler is lacking just don’t get creative enough with it. Good stuff through the beginning; loved the motifs.

(I’ll confess to stopping about halfway through, ‘coz, well, no offense, but by then it was just pure vacation video. :) Let me know if I missed anything important.)

Thanks, David!

LOL, you're right. It IS a vacation video, and worse than that, it's someone elses! Don't blame you for stopping. However, I make pretty good use of Vegas' 3D Track Motion near the very end with a Poloroid that turns on angle & comes right at the screen ... I think it worked well, but you can let me know if you choose to finish it ... save to desktop, then just skip ahead.
