I found this cool web site for calculating the ANGLE of VIEW and just want to check that I am doing this right. Do my calculations sound about right? I used this web site to do the calculations:
http://imaginatorium.org/stuff/angle...g=+94%B0+30%27
You just enter the 35mm equivalent of the minimum focal length and hit 35mm FORMAT and then hit CALCULATE. I also multiplied the minimum focal length by my 0.7x wide angle lens and 0.5x wide angle lens to see what the Angle of View is. Again I am reporting on the DIAGONAL ANGLE OF VIEW ONLY here.
Let me know if this sounds right for the Canon HV40 and it's competition:
Camera_____Minimum Focal_______Angle of View____0.7x______0.5x
____________Length(mm)________(DIAGONAL)
Sony HC7_______40_____________56.5 Degrees____75________94
Sony CX550_____29.8____________71.6 Degrees____93_______111
Panny TM300____44.9____________51.3 Degrees____70________88
Panny TM700____35______________63.3 Degrees____83_______102
Canon HV40_____43.6____________52.5 Degrees____70________89
(Canon HF S11 & Canon HF S21 are same as Canon HV40)
