The next few months promise a respite from the drought of good movies (excepting Fincher's Network and the Dragon Tatoo trilogy) of the past six months. At least five exciting films are on the horizon:

  • Black Swan - Daren Aronofsky (remember Pi, Requiem and Wrestler)
  • Enter the Void - Gaspar Noe (if Irreversible bothered you maybe skip this one)
  • True Grit - Brothers Coen (the Dude plays the Duke)
  • L'Illusioniste - Sylvain Chomet (its been 7 long years since the miraculous Triplets of Belleville - and this one's from a story by Jacques Tati)
  • Biutifull - Alejandro Inarritu (hopefully more like the magical Amores Perros and less like the unwatchable Babel)
Can't wait.

I agree, some of this films (True Grit, Black Swan) are on my hitlist to see as well. I never knew about others though, I'll have to look them up and take a look. Anything by the Coen Brothers and Darren Aronofsky usually means the movie will be highly entertaining. In No Country for Old Men, you could almost feel how dry the Texas air was in that movie, they did such a fantastic job with a movie so far removed from what they usually work on. I imagine True Grit will be a treat to watch.
