Comic Con, who's been?

I'm an Aussie looking to go to Comic Con next year with two of my close mates. Probably will make it a 2-3 week driving holiday and see a couple places like San Fran, Vegas, L.A etc.

How was your comic con experience?

Second, what places on this side of the country should I check out?
 
Haven't been to Comic Con, but if you're an Aussie who likes the big outdoors, you have to see (and shoot) the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Monument Valley, at a minimum.
 
Ok thanks, I'll check out some of the national parks. Anywhere else? After all types of things.
 
I went from 2000-2010. It was fun while it lasted, but it just got old and tedious by last year. It's always been crowded, but now it's practically should to shoulder. I'm not saying you shouldn't go though. It might be more fun if you've never been, and if you don't mind crowds).
