Hi all,
Thought I'd use the cafe to shamelessly plug the fact that my graphic novel just hit the stands.

"INDUSTRY OF WAR - ACT ONE" (now available in comic book stores) is published by the DESPERADO PUBLISHING imprint of Image Comics. The book features a wrap around color cover with a mini-graphic novel sized 72 page black and white interior story which encompasses the first act of the original draft comic script written by myself and Andrew Lelling. It's a cinematic read and the plot mostly follows the screenplay I just finished under the watchful eye of a famous producer (more on that below).

The first 16 pages can be read online at http://www.desperadopublishing.com .
Other random pages can be found on my website at http://www.jordanraskin.com .

An article detailing the concept can be found here:

A recent review was just posted here:

Now about that famous producer:
I am happy to announce I've recently completed a screenplay version of Industry of War under the watchful eye of producer RONALD SHUSETT. Ron is best known for co-creating, writing and producing such great films as ALIEN, TOTAL RECALL and MINORITY REPORT. We are both really happy with the way the draft has turned out and believe we have a smart, gritty action film on our hands.

producers and third parties interested in partnership and licensing opportunities are welcome to contact me of course (hey, you never know who's on this thing)

And hey, if you buy it and you dig it, let me know what you think. Always look forward to feedback. And, uhhh... tell a friend too!

Congratulations. Looks cool. I'll see if my local comic book store has it if not I'll search a couple other stores until I find it. Again congrats.

Thanks guys, appreciate the support!

And hey, if your shop doesn't have it, they can order it using this order code from the distributor: SEP05 1667

very cool man!
loved the preview and your drawings on your site are awesome!
are you gonna be aComickaze's independent comic creator extravaganza?

Thanks much guys!

tjohara99:
What is this comickaze's extravaganza thing you speak of? I'm new to the west coast so I'm not familiar with a lot that's going on out here. If they have a website, can you send me a link?

Thanks a lot!

Congrats. It's good to know that there are other comic writers on here. I did a series for Dreamwave before they went belly-up, and, of course, we never got released. Stick it to the man for me.

Rock on.

tjohara99:
Didn't realize it was in San Diego. I might have been interested in attending, but as it turns out, I'm doing a film workshop this weekend. Thanks for the link though. Will most likely be at the San Diego Comic Convention this summer. If you attend, look for the Desperado Publishing booth and that's where you'll find me.

Hey man, you were part of that whole dreamwave thing? I heard they imploded (unfortunately) but I didn't hear the details. I checked out your trailer for "at arms". Looks REALLY good! I live about an hour outside of LA myself. We should talk. I'm trying to group local DVXer's to help each other out with their projects. Drop me a line via email, would love to hear more about what you're doing filmwise.
