Comic Book Look

I brought in some footage I had cut. I used roto brush on the skateboarder to freeze him in the air and left everyone else moving in the background. It was tricky with all the small, fast moving parts but I got it to work.

Then I imported the footage in and used the cartoon effect. I clicked the box on from fill to just edges which created the black and white look. I adjusted a bit to make it look right with the other controls and then I added cc glass and brought down the height to single digits. It gave it a cooler look.

I found some speech bubbles online and just cut them out and adjusted the position and added text. Just comic sans. I'm thinking I could make the text look better. Any suggestions would be great. I was thinking of doing a series of these for a local skate shop.

Tell me what you think or other suggestions. Here's the link...

Might want to stabilize the footage so your stills (text bubble and freeze frame skater) don't wander across the screen.

Also maybe slow mo down to freeze frame and then when the skater starts to move again, start him off slowly and then ramp up to normal speed

Yeah. I just learned about the stabilization with motion tracker. Didn't think about the speed adjustment. Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

Romford?! I would agree with the image stabilizer. You could ramp slow mo into the freeze frame (it is skate boarding after all)!!

Here's a newer version. Messing around with adding other 3d elements and layers...

Still trying to figure out the motion stabilizer. I thought I just set two points across an image and then analyze forward and then apply. Is there more to it than that? I'll have to look for a better tutorial.
