Combining two projects into one

Is there a convenient way to combine two projects into one in Vegas? At the moment, I have two seperately saved project files and I would like to get them together on a timeline.

Thanks

The best that you can do is to open two copies of Vegas, one with each project. You can then select and copy the events from one project to the other project. This is not perfect as somethings don't get copied.

I have never had to COMBINE (2) projects into one but have brought in separate capture footage into a single project. Are you looking to combine (2) different Vegas files? OR are you trying to get other footage in?

Yes, that actually did work.  I had to do a copy and paste for EACH INDIVIDUAL EVENT, on both audio and video tracks between the two instances of Vegas.  I was trying to copy one project and open and paste into the other project from within the same instance and that just was not working for me.  But I was careful and everything seems to have gone okay.

Thanks for the reply!!!    ;D

John- I had two different completely ASSembled projects that I was trying to combine into one single project. Please dont ask me why I worked it that way. The whole a**hole to elbow theorem I keep trying to apply to my life, I suppose.

Re: Combining two projects into one

If you had two projects which were finished, you could have rendered them both and then brought the two resulting AVIs into the same timeline.

But to get ALL of the events at once, use the Selection Edit Tool (the button with the dotted square around the cursor arrow). Make a square around the entire project and copy.

Before you try to move a whole project that way, though, do a little cleanup and make sure that the video tracks and the audio tracks match up. Best to put all the video tracks together and then all of the audio tracks together.
