Combining the ZaZa Slider and TeddyBears mini slider/jib

Hey guys,
The ZaZa Slider is amazing! I have built 3 now (one for myself and 2 for other film guys here on campus). I am also really falling in love with everything TeddyBear is able to come up with in the DIY section. I am wondering if there would be a way to combine the ZaZa slider and his mini slider/jib? I like the stability of the zaza and I like the fact that I already have one and wouldn't have to rebuilt anything else, but I am wondering if there is a way to use 2 tripod heads the way TeddyBear does to get the Jib shot shown in his posts here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?p=1887207#post1887207

Thoughts? I don't have a single tripod head at all right now and campus is closed til Monday and I have such an itching to try it out... Anyone have the time, ability, or curiousity to give it a whirl?

Wouldn't that be just adding an extra head underneath the Igus so you have one under the rail and one on the cart?

I've been thinking of doing that, but it'll take maybe two weeks until I get my Igus.

I'm sure you'd have more freedom with the Igus because it doesn't require you to have it one way up. You can slide it upside down or any way you want.

yeah that is what i was thinking as well... i will see if i can rip off a campus tripod and give it a whirl

Yes, this has been discussed many times in the ZazaSlider thread. I know it looks like a great idea, but it's really not (IMHO). I've played with this many times and have come to the conclusion that if I want a crane/jib shot.... I use my crane.

It's really hard to to work...you have to keep one hand on the back of the slider to act as a counterweight...then pan & tilt with the other...and try to pay attention to what your shooting...just too much going on. Try it out, just mount the slider on a head...and another head on the carriage.

In my case, if I need a short travel only I use the track and jib I made BUT i place a small counterweight on the other end. So that way I free up both hands to work both heads.

Say for instance a DSLR like the 7D requires a light counterweight. -i just strapped my belt bag on the other end and placed the 80-200 zoom inside. (dang that lens is heavy)

But of course shots requiring longer travel I use my DIY 13 foot jib.

FYI The sample footage I posted had the counterweight belt bag on the other end.

Sorry,

Haven't gotten to making and posting the plans for it as it is based on what other DIYer's have made, theres a lot of those here and over at HBSboard.com.
