Combining footage...

I am in the process of creating my own 35mm adapter for my DVX. I love the look of them, but there are still a few shots that I can think of where I would not want to have such narrow DOF. Obviously I can just stop down but this can go too far and start to soften the image. Do you think it would it look okay if I combined shots with the adapter and shots without it in the same sequence? Would there be any differences in the look other than the DOF?

Each lens has it's own image characteristics so depending on the lens you use with the adaptor you might see minor changes in contrast and color.

Your best bet is to shoot some samples and see if you can match them in post.

ya, you can do this quite easily. As cools said, just match the look in post. It will all be about image sharpness, color and contrast, all things that you can easily control after the shoot.
