Combing HDV30P footage with SD 30P footage

I recently shot some green screen with a Canon HV 30 at HDV 30P and shot some footage with my DVX 100B camera at 30P as well.

I don't know which would be better. To edit on an HDV timeline and just scale up my footage in final cut or edit in a 29.97 timeline and scale down the HDV footage.

I need to combine these different formats to complete the video.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Leo

Normally, your destination output is the deciding factor, but if you're doing keying and elaborate compositing, then you might want to stay in HD. There are a lot of options and it's going to depend on what you are planning on doing with the footage. For example, you might want to pull your key in HD, but composite it afterwards in SD if your background footage and output format is SD, etc.

You might also want to convert your footage to uncompressed (if you have the computer and drives for it) or ProRes, and do your effects in that.

Thanks Cools. I usally just search for posts. I think this is like my second post thanks for the response.

I see what your saying about keying it out in HDV. That was my plan. The finally output is going to be for the web and DVD. This might see broadcast on local public access networks.
