When I burn an avi on dvd I have colours appearing randomly on dark areas.
mainly on black areas. colours that appear are mainly red or blue.
so i can never say that the picture i shot or the one i saw on premiere pro is the actual
picture i will see on dvd.
any ideas of the why of such a thing?
regards,
Stephen.

That's weird. What's your workflow like? Are you burning directly from Premiere? Exportin out of Premiere as AVI and letting your DVD program transcode? Exporting as MPEG2 and burning with dvd program?

if your shooting with gain thatll be an issue.. otherwise your just seeing noise. cameras need light to function well. too little light and it cant tell what the heck its looking at and the CCD and compression get all weirded out. its very typical of all video cameras to generate noise in low lihgt levels.. on the film end of things yo would get unruley grain instead of noise.

the workflow is: I export out of premiere as avi and use a dvd program.
as regarding to noise: no I am not shooting with gain. i do not think that it is a gain issue as in premiere i do not get that effect. But if i have a red head on a spot while i would like to have some other area in the shadow i would not pretend to get noise there, no, or am i wrong? by the way i am using dvx100A.
