Colorvision Spyder - Need to borrow one

Does anyone have the Colorvision Spyder, or similar monitor calibration tool, that they would be willing to let me borrow/rent? I'm just beginning the long process of editing a feature on a new system and I'd like to have a fairly accurate representation of the footage.

Peace,
Larry

While your computer monitor will be calibrated, your signal-out monitor won't be, using this kind of tool.

You're right, and I totally understand that. I don't have an HD "signal-out monitor" so that's why I want to calibrate my PC monitors (1 LCD and 1 CRT) so that I work with the closest representation of the finished product as possible.

I think you *did* mention that it's cheap.

Something I'm actually not clear on, is...could you use such a device to CC an LCD or plasma HD display, after all? Since it's a digital signal. Maybe my fingers were moving faster than my brain, there.

Any engineering types feel like settling that question?

you can use it to calibrate any screen that is connected to your computer and being controlled by the computer's colour profile. I'm not sure that'll work with a TV monitor that's connected to the computer tho. I've never tried. these things are meant for use with computer monitors only

did that just confuse you more maybe?
