Colored Flash Transition

Just wondering how to get this transition effect. It's a flash type transition with added colors. It looks sort of like damaged film or something. I've seen it used quite a lot.

its called "Film Burn" and you can find clips of it at stock video sites.....some for free. You just take the clip of film burn and lay it over your video track and changed the opcaity or blend mode to your liking.
