Color Timing in Final Cut Pro

I was wondering if there is a good plug in or technique for a final color time in Final Cut Pro? I also was wondering what type of computer screen I should do my final color timing on? Right now I am editing with a G5 on Final Cut and have a Dell monitor. I want this to look as good as possible, so can someone give me some suggestions on my final color timing and what screen to use? Thanks!

Well it depends whether you're doing SD or HD. But in general a professional CRT monitor- i.e. not a TV is the best place to Color Correct. You can do this with the built-in 3 way color corrector, or you can move up to Colorista or Color.

If you want it to look as good as possible I'd read up on color theory and color correction. Steve Hullfish has two very good books on color correction Color Correction for Digital Video: Using Desktop Tools to Perfect Your Image and The Art and Technique of Digital Color Correction and, if you go w/Color, Noah has a tutorial DVD (check his sig for the link) covering the basics of the program.
