Color Temperature Crash Course: My attempt to explain.

If so i have noticed in my footage when im balanced for daylight and correct in post that i have less noise than if i go tungsten and adjust in post. Is this why?

Exactly PaPa.

For Merry X-Mess I did a ton of extreme lowlight tests with the HVX - wich is not exactly known as "queen of the night".
Balancing for tungsten (especialy when your only lights are "verry tungsten" like a christmas tree) raises the db level on the blue chanel, causing noise.

That´s why I don`t balance at all, but go with the daylight setting and do my curves i the post.

I read the article not knowing a single thing on color temperature and lighting and now i'm well informed.Thanx alot Ryan.

The only other thing i am not too sure on is the color gain level. Should i shoot flatter in camera and adjust saturation in post, or should i have a higher level of saturation in camera and then lower it in post if i need to, or vice versa?
