The color temperature if off on my monitor. I bought it used on ebay so I can't return it. I bought it a few months ago. It has this warm cast over the video. Is there anything I can do about this? It's annoying trying to get the colors right with this problem. The monitor is the JVC TM-910SU. 9" monitor.
Thanks,
Paul DV
ps- I believe it only has one color temp setting, 6500k.

this is the one:

See if you can make any basic color adjustments to get rid of it. The other option is to get a cool gel or filter sheet to cover the monitor to neutralize the coloration.

What does something like this (shifted, incorrect white balance) occur from? I'm pretty sure the new units don't ship like this. I'd hope not, at least.
Thanks,
Paul

Do I have to bring it in for servicing to be degaused or is it basically just unfixable?
thanks,
pdv

Check to see if there are presets as well as user adjustable levels; if there are, then try a preset first. If you have a manual, check it, if not, search to see if one can be downloaded or purchased, it will likely come in very handy.

An error in color temperature is likely a red/blue level adjustment error or a well beyond end of life CRT. Degaussing the CRT won't have much effect on color temperature but can improve focus. Degaussing should be done anytime a CRT is moved to a new location as its orientation to the earth's magnetic poles and any other local magnetic fields will be different.

I bought it on ebay so it wouldnt surprise me if it was well beyond end of life. I calibrated it and I still get the yellow cast. Looks like I'll be buying another one. I'll stick with EVS from now on....

Well, hopefully you didn't pay too much for it. I have purchased three monitors off of eBay (a 7", 15" & 19" all Panasonic), two were great, the third, a bit of a disappointment. This one might be good enough for other departments to use, but I don't think you would want to audition lighting changes with it.

daygola, sorry about the trouble you are having. Try and send it in to JVC and see if they can at least give you an estimate for the repairs. Did you buy it "as-is", or did the ebay seller market as "fully functional"? If he lied, ebay will make him take it back...
