Hello, folks!
I recently bought the Century Optics Wide lens (the one with zoom-through: .7 I think).
I was pleased with the resulting wide angle, of course, but very alarmed at some major quality issues I see. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the lens itself, the particular lens I got, or my camera.
Take a look at this picture, shot with the Century .7 Wide:
Look at the two circled areas and you will see a substantial amount of color separation in the blue channel. This is most pronounced the farther from the center of the lens, but it is clearly visible and very unacceptable. This particular shot was done in a very darkly lit environment, but I've seen the same effect in a scene shot just after this that was very brightly lit!
What might explain this? Is this normal for a wide angle adapter?
