color problems with .wmv files

Whenever I render my videos to .wmv, it seems like I'm losing black. In VEGAS it's completely black (e.g., on my text media segments), but when I watch it in playback on Windows Media Player, the black is lighter and closer to a dark gray. An example would be music videos. Before each video I have a title card with the band's name, the name of the song, etc. This is simple text media over a black screen and it's completely black in VEGAS. But, in Windows Media Player, it's not.

You can see what I'm talking about by watching some videos on my site at http://knightowlentertainment.com/musicvideos.html

Can anybody help me out here?

Thanks.

Jeff

Are you watching the flash files or the downloadable .wmv's? The flash files are fine, but it's the downloads that are screwed up.

This is normal. Different players/editors/encoders use different gamma settings. There's no way you will get it "like in your preview screen" in every single medium you export or playback. Each one of these have its own mind and defaults.
