Color & Motion & Soundtrack vs. FCP internal tools...

I thought I would propose this as a general open discussion to get other folks opinions.

When I first got Final Cut 4, there was some level of intergration with Soundtrack & LiveType, but basically you did most of your effects, color correction & such right in FCP.

Because FCP has improved, but a lot of how it works continues to be consistent a lot of the tricks that people created on FCP 4, or Studio 1 still work just fine in Studio 2.

But, with the addition & better integration of Motion 3, Soundtrack & Color, I'm wondering if it's now better to avoid spending time getting what you want in FCP and would be better off using Color for doing all of your color correction & look enhancements?

In other words, are the Color Corrector & 3 Way Color Corrector in FCP just a vestige that is still present for older users so they can still apply the tricks they created in FCP 4, but Color is the app we should all use in our work flow?

Thoughts, Opinions?

Really depends- Color is much more powerful and capable than the built-in tools. But you can't constantly tweak and re-edit. Once you go to Color you have a brand new sequence and you go back to FCP with that. So it really depends more on workflow than what is better.
