Color Grading

[storyteller00]

Hey does anyone know of any good [and free] color grading tutorials online?

I've been searching for hours and haven't found anything good.
The only thing I can find is super basic stuff. Contrast and basic white balance. But the end product there is only ok, I'm a perfectionist and need my color just right. So I'm looking for something that is more moderate to advanced.

Also something specific to the program Color would be great, but just a good fuller understanding of how professional color grading works [making full use of waveform monitors etc.] would be extremely helpful.

Thanks alot.

Come on...ya gotta pay something. For someone to take time to not only walk thru the steps, but to what is needed to make a tutorial takes time, and you can't expect someone to do this for free.

Most perfectionists I know... well ok... ME... do a lot of reading and experimenting.

Might try that.

There are plenty of books out there too - maybe try the library??

I have tried book stores and haven't found anything good. There really isn't a lot of video specific books that discuss these things in depth. Any specific titles to recommend?

Shane I agree with you, I'm just completly out of money!! [ I just sunk way too much money/time into a personal project] I'm inbetween paying projects so I have about a week and a half of time before I lose my life to production again.
So in a month, I'll have money again but no time as I'll be busy with new projects and won't have time to learn a new program.
I was just hoping[wishful] that something decent was out there that I didn't have to pay for, to at least get me started.

But hey thanks for the links. I guess they really aren't that expensive...

Here're a couple that aren't too expensive (on Amazon). Not sure exactly what you're using for your color grading...FCP or Color.
