For a project I am working on I want to achieve a 'vintage' color effect, similar to these great old kodachromes at the Library of Congress group on flickr.

Can anyone suggest some starting points? Should I attempt to get this type of look using only the 3 way, or should I be using some 3rd party filter or...?
