Color grading software

With the end of Apple Color what is the best cost effective solution for grading under MAC OS excluding the new "odd" tools within FCPX?

Are there any thing similar to color that doesn't cost a fortune? I can only think on Resolve and Baselight but they both cost way more than I can afford too.

Thanks

Thanks! I had no idea there was a free version. I've been using Magic Bullet with Premiere but would love to dive deeper into all of it.

Thanks a lot. That definitely was a great tip. I have already installed it on my MBP since my 2009 iMac doesn't live up to OpenCL specs.

This option is really awesome because is a stand alone software that you can learn without the a major risk of investing your time and end up with a discontinued software like Apple Color, but I have to be honest and say that I am a bit scared about Resolve's GUI which I find way less intuitive than Color.

I have searched the web for a good tutorial like Lynda ones, but I couldn't find one. Can any one point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

I actually find Resolve easier to use than Color - most of your common tasks can be done in the Color interface; curves, power windows, noise reduction, nodes, etc. In Color you have to jump between the primary and secondary rooms to do anything, and then the controls are just slightly different between the primaries and secondaries.

I just wish Resolve is as stable as Color - I've NEVER had Color crash on me, and I feel like if I breathe the wrong way Resolve will crash on my i7 iMac.

I see no one's mentioned Colorista. It's reputedly very good, and is a plugin that integrates with your NLE. So you can simply add it as a filter in FCP/Premiere without jumping between. Supposed to be good for all but the most elaborate CC tasks, and runs about $300.

Resolve is free and about a billion times more powerful than Colorista.

Colorista is not even that reliable - I remember doing a bunch of fine-tuned HSL adjustments, then when I tried to pasted the filter onto another clip those adjustments didn't carry over.
