Color Grading Setup iMac resolve Blackmaic extreme

Man,
I have been all over the internet searching for a decent setup that will work for color grading with my iMac. I don't have the budget for high end and don't do critical grading for clients. I just need a modest setup to give me a decent close grade. There has been a hundred forums with people asking similar questions, but none have answered them straight. So here is my question.

I was looking at the Hp Dreamcolor to hook up to my Blackmagic intensity extreme card from my iMac. I found out that the Blackmagic only outputs YUV and not RGB signal via HDMI. So this does not work with the Hp Dreamcolors color engine. So this setup is a No Go. I was looking for another decent monitor like a Dell Ultrasharp or Nec 10bit panel with decent color accuracy.

So, if I am trying to reproduce a close RGB 709 color space on my 2nd monitor to grade footage, does the output of the Blackmagic extreme with YUV color space defeating the purpose of using one of the other monitors?? Or, what is a good setup to use with a iMac for this purpose counting out $3,000 - 30,000 displays?

Any help would be appreciated :cheesy:

Being RGB and progressive only are limitations of the Dreamcolor monitors. YUV is typically the norm for baseband video signals while RGB is typically the norm for computer video signals (hence the Dreamcolor wanting an RGB signal). Flanders Scientific makes very good monitors and they have 21.5" monitor for $2500. http://www.shopfsi.com/BM210-p/bm210.htm
