hi, im shooting a video in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if someone could help me find out how to get a color grading like this video http://vimeo.com/15634254
and this other video for a commercial that i have to shoot in a month http://vimeo.com/15386900

I work with a canon 60d. i would to know what settings do i have to have while recording and what should i do in FCP to get the color grading like those videos.

hope you can guide me.

thanks so much for your time.

magic bullet look doesnt work on my macbook 2.4 ghz, 3gb ram. dont know why.. i have the OpenGL disabled and still not working

The first one video looked like a 3 way color wheel, with the shadows being pushed into the blue spectrum of the wheel with some desaturation. It seems like the shadows are opened up as well with a pinch of blue to the mids to give it an overall look. Love the grading on this though.

By the way I see nothing wrong with emulating another persons style of coloring, as we all need a starting point and sure the majority of us have done it at one point in our quest to grow in our craft. The problem is when we don't seek to acquire our own style and settle for someone else's

I agree with reem12 for the first video. Its look like 3 way color wheel used.

in 2nd video, I think Bleach is used and then some collor collection to achieve yellowish tone with Magic bullet or ou can do it ur own by playing with some basic controls.

Well it's not like the makers of those videos have created this style, it's on pretty much every DSLR-shot video on Vimeo at the moment and has been for almost a year now.

Basically, you up the shadows of either red or blue in a 3 way colour corrector. That gives you the generic look everyone seems to be going for these days.
