Como's back. back again
guys im makign a film, and im color correcting it as i go.....now if iwatch a movie, a scary one as opposed to a funny one, the colors are MUCH differnet, they color correct it right?

wut i do when i collor correct is add a filter in fcp and then play with the colors, the n i just copy this to every peice of footage in my video, but someties i have to tweak it in differnet scenes due to lighting and what not, so how can i get every scene to have the same "Color" and to make it all blend tog ether?

thankss

well, you would normally color correct your footage to match between takes and then color grade to give an overall look.

You are mixing two different steps in the process.

That is part of the color correction process...to make the colors from scene to scene match. The other part is to color correct for style or mood.

Color correction is NOT a fast and easy process. There is an entire professional field of people who only color correct.

Color grading is taking corrected images and applying a custom lookup table, (LUT) or palette to shift the images to a look which is not true to the actual original footage, but to a look which suits what the director has in mind. Grading comes after correction.

Check out the looks library from Magic Bullet.
