Color Correction Question

I am running Premiere Pro 2.0 on a Pentium 4 3.2G with 512ddr ram. My captured footage looks fine but when I add color correction of any kind the picture skips when I play it back. I was wondering if anyone knew about this problem or if it is because my ram is not that high (I am getting another 512 this week).

Also is it possible to get the look of magic bullet from Color Correction in either Premiere Pro 2.0 or After Effects 7. I dont really know how magic bullet works, I mean is it something that just has certain presets of Color Correction that I could just do on my own through Premiere of After Effects. I want the film type looks but I am very new to this and dont know exactly what Im doing so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're not rendering the corrected footage. Press the enter button and Premiere will render.

Magic bullet looks can be achieved by using the color correction tools. But for me it's much faster to start with a Magic Bullet preset and then tweak it to achieve my desired effect.

Thanks Ill try that when I get home.

Yeah I would like Magic Bullet but Im pretty broke and cant swing the $400 bucks or whatever it is for it right now, so if I can get the same look with a little extra work, for now thats good enough.

You may be able to get kind of near to a "MB look" but there are some additional functions built into the Looks Suite that PremPro CC does not have. Whatever...you will need to take a lot of time to learn how to get a result which ever way you go.

I think your movie is skipping because you have not rendered the effects you have applied (and the extra Ram will help because you are below minmum requirement)

red bar in timeline above footage=have not rendered
green bar in timeline above footage=rendered

always render your stuff. and get 2GB RAM. 512MB is not enough. it will sail with 4x more ram. it's too cheap to not do it.

Yeah I would definitly get more ram but my comp's max is 1 gig so I am going to get another 512.

And thanks guys, it was that I didnt render the footage. Im learning as I go.
