hi guys I currently use the color corrector effect in premier pro for cc'ing but I am not at all happy with the outcome. I am wondering what others are doing, would it be wise to just edit in premier pro then render raw and do cc'ing in after effects?

please any help is appreciated.

ps i shoot with a dvx100a and I see others footage and a lot of the time their footage looks a little cooler than mine due to cc.

There is no reason for you to have to render out of premier in order to do your CC work in AE. You should be able to open your premier project file from After effects. That will rebuild your Premier timeline in AE, so that you still have each individual clip to work with.

By the way, if you're interested in Color Correction - you might want to check out this book. I found it to be a good starting point.

PremPro has very powerful CC features that many seem to overlook. PPRO 2 appears to be even better with the inclusion of Secondary CC.

CC in AE is a drag and Color Finesse does not allow you to view the entire clip.

Take a look at HLS and Curves in PremPro Color Corections.

A tip . Balance/ level up your clip tones in Black and White before playing with any color controls. Do this by viewing on a B/W monitor ( I hit the Secam button) or winding out the saturation temporarily.
