Color correction in 16bpc?

Hi there!

I was searching the internet about this topics for hours now but couldn't find anything.
My simple question is:
Is it possible to do a 16bpc color correction in FCP like I can do it in After Effects? If yes? Where can I find this little button to switch my project to 16bpc?

I'd like to use the 3 way color corrector and Magic Bullet Looks.
(Not Apple Color...)

Thanks for help!

16 bits per channel

I don't think FCP's built in color correction tools are that good. You would have to use Color I believe.

Alright so maybe there was a misunderstanding on my side. The footage comes from a GH-1. So it's a weak codec for color correction. I thought by using 16bpc it wil help to get more out of the picture or mess up not so much in post.
I read about that in Stu's blog:
"Work at high bit-depths. If you start with an 8-bit image and do a gentle de-noise, you’re blending pixels values together to create new colors. Although there’s no such thing as something for nothing, doing this at a higher bit-depth means those new colors have massivly more gradations than the original image. Your subsequent color work will hold up much better."

And since I don't own Automatic Duck for an easy switch over to After Effects I was just wondering if a 16bpc color correction is possible in FCP...
