Color Correction for Screen Cap with HD Camera

I have the canon HG20, and I'm capturing footage of video games off my screen and I'm wondering what are some good ways to get the colors corrected? At times it appears too bright, and I'm kind of new to Premier Pro.

I know this is a newb question. Also, what are some good settings to go from 1080P AVCHD to h.264 720p for youtube?

an example of what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRAStOaLq4g

The colors get "washed out" or are too bright.

Thanks in advance.:dankk2:

It looks as good as I'd expect for filming a screen. Filming a screen never works all that well, though, as far as matching what you see on it.

Right, but I need to know how to change the contrast/brightness to get it to look better and IDK how to do that....

Just add the appropriate 'effects' from Premiere. Gamma curves, brightness/contrast, color levels, whatever you want to change. Just start dragging effects in and see what you can do with them, eventually you'll find what you want. But those are the ones to start with.
