Color Correcting pointer

This question can be kind of vaque I suppose, but what is it that you all look for when color correcting a scene? I know it's hard to answer without a specific scene in mind, but generally what are you looking for to fix? Is there any effect or correction to tend to make more often?

thanks for any suggestions!

I usually start with what objects I know are a certain color. If I know a certain wall is white I make sure its white, etc. Also make sure skin tones are correct. I believe many pros keep a few photographs of the talent usually that show the talents correct skin tone, eye color etc for this purpose. Me I just guess and try to make it look right. Then I go in and screw up all the colors and mess with the saturation til it makes me happy :) Alot of it depends on if you are trying to make it look like what the set actually looked like or trying to recreate something entirely different - Obin just posted some amazing grabs from a commercial he just shot that look nothing like what was there but he corrected/graded for that effect with outstanding results.
