Color Calibrated CRT Monitor

I have been a Final Cut Pro user for several years now, and I am about to purchase a Panasonic production monitor to use with my system. I have seen a setup where it goes out of the computer via firewire into a DV converter then that has BNC outputs... Is that my only option or is there a cheaper alternative that will output full quality?
 
Well, the only "full quality" you are going to get to that monitor is DV quality. So if you have HD, or SD that is ProRes or Uncompressed, you won't see the full quality.

Best to have an IO device like the Decklink Intensity or Matrox MXO2 Mini or higher end models. But, you wanted cheap...
 
Then it should be fine. But mind you, if the monitor is an HD one, the image might not look good. It'll have to be blown up to fit.
