Color Bars Question

Hi !
I was just reading Shannon's post regarding the Marshall 7" R70P-HDA and have a question. Shannon showed a screen with color bars that are different from what I'm seeing on my HVX (Pal) LCD and my Marshall Monitor. I can see only 7 color bars on my LCD and Marshall Monitor and none of the lower down bars in the screen. Is this correct ?.

Perfectly normal. Normal bars just show the main colors for checking on a vectorscope. Most in-camera bars are generated like this. The bars above are just fancier, with some additional stuff for you to check
 
dave... That's a great article. I read that a while back.. Thanks for posting it... thought I lost it... Very clear explanation here... Kudos!
 
Thanks Dave a really great reference ! It put my mind at ease when I saw the Pal color bar link. It looks exactly like my HVX 200 display. Cheers!
 
Ray, OK...you are PAL. Didn't know that. I am happy all is well now. You can disregard the question in the other post. *smile*
