College Assignment Idea

I have a college assignment that is a major part of the program. I'm not good on writing or doing projects like this... I just wanna make movies :(

We have to choose a topic for a major research project. I need a topic for a 25pg assignment. But it can't be textbook material and not too specific so I can't write 25pgs on.
I am also supposed to interview at least 5 people in the business.

I want to do it on Cinematography as that is what I want to learn more on as that's what I want to do.

I generelly don't ask for help, but its a big project and would like to hear some ideas (If you don't mind)

My first idea way:
The purpose of my project will be to... find out what cinematography factors affect
the success of a film?

But its more based on textbook material. Learning about lighting, camera, wardrobe, etc is something I can learn from a book, but it should be more personal I guess?

Can anyone help me with this?
*I need this topic down for WEDNESDAY! :)
 
Something that's I cannot just learn from a textbook.
As long as I can end up interviewing some DP's for my assignment.
 
If you can basically learn by ready a bood, then it won't work.

You can learn about cinematography by studying light. How its used to shape, contrast, when/where to use, etc. How to frame, when to dolly, etc.
That is all cinematography, but if I have a question, I need to make sure its not something I can learn from reading a book.
Its somewhat more of a personal opinion, I guess?
