Collapse Transformations & DOF

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I've searched the AE7 manual and multiple forums and couldn't find the answer (maybe my search skills suck).

Anyway, I was wondering if it were possible to make a 3D sub comp, drop it in to the main comp, collapse transformations on the track, and retain the ability to adjust the depth of field using a camera placed on the main comp?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's no such thing as a stupid question!

I tried it in a comp (with collapsed precomps) and it worked. Is it not working for you, or were you just asking before you tried?
