Collaborate With Me On Documentary?

Hey everyone, I have a rather odd request. I am making a documentary and I have been struggling with the content I have been getting because it is so central to my geographical location. The content of the film is so different depending on who you talk to and where they live. It is a music related subject and therefore, different parts of the world have different scenes and interpretations of the same general ideas.

My idea is this. Get a bunch of fellow filmmakers all over the world to help shoot this thing. Even if it is just one interview with one person in a place other then my state of Minnesota... It will make for a much more broad depiction of the content.

If anyone is interested, lets chat, I don't know exactly how this will work, but I thought I should at least put it out there and see what people think. I would obviously be taking this project from being a personal thing, to something that I would share with everyone involved, including the credits and all of the positives that may come if it is successful. I have put up a clip on YouTube that actually has gotten a lot of response from the community, but I want to take the film in a different direction than where it is in this clip. I also have it on vimeo where I color corrected and touched it up a little bit.

Check out the clip, and PM or email me if you are interested in helping out. I have people in tons of major cities ready to be interviewed, I just need someone with a camera to shoot it! Thanks guys.

Chris

I would be interested in contributing to this project. We have an art gallery here that would be a great location for me in Panama City, FL.

Hi Xtopher...

I am involved with a lot of bands in the 'underground' scene on the west coast of canada...

i have already made a feature length doc. about one of these bands...

anyways, check out the "Music" section, under the "Video" section on my site:

www.MonsterMediaWebsite.com

I am also working on a bunch of new projects.

Related to your project though, I work with the 'who's who' of the punk rock scene for sure.

Let me know if you think I could participate in some manner,

Regards

Lou, are you saying you would have a great location, or you have gear and could shoot a couple interviews? Hit me up with a PM or email if you wanna talk more, Florida would be a great place to hit on!

It's a good idea to get other filmmakers to contribute. I plan to do this with a feature film that will be fictional but shot like a documentary.

I'm kinda late, but I just saw a clip of your doc. I saw some vignetting on the Vimeo video. Did you have a 35mm adaptor when you shot this? What camera did you use? And on the Vimeo site you stated you have HD cams now? What cams did you pic up on? Just me 2 cents...it would be great to keep all the shots in HD for better workflow on the Post side of things, plus PQ when all the shots are put together in the end. Good job so far.

Thanks young gun, I have a Canon XHA1 now as well as an SGpro. I used the DVX100A for a bunch of shows but I am thinking most of that is not going to make it on the final cut. It all depends on what I get and how good the content is. If it ends up I have to down convert to use SD footage than I will probably bite the bullet...

I could possibly be interested in contributing. I currently shoot video for a few different tours, mostly metal. I am currently gearing up to go out o music as a weapon and after that the mayhem festival. lets talk and see if it will fit.

Xtopher, I would like to learn more about what you are doing and possibly contribute an Alaska prospective!

Hey xtopher, my friends books alot of Hc shows here in montreal and quebec city. Iam in the scene for about 10years now so It might be easy for me to have some interview with the hc kids or punkrockers. I live in montreal for 2 years now and I from quebec city. Maybe I can help you with your video.
