Cold Shoe on DVX cameras

How strong / reliable is our cold shoe mount on our cameras? Reason I ask is I have a mini noga articulating arm attached to it with my new Vidled LED light attached to the arm and although its a nice set up, between both items including my mattebox it is making the front end of the camera front heavy. I don't want to do anything that will rip the cold shoe mount off the camera. The LED light doesn't way that much and the arm doesnt weigh that much but looking at the tiny screw that holds the "shoe" in place, I dont want to break the thing off!

I dont have a cold shoe mount on my DV Rig PRo. The Israeli Arm has to either slide into a hot/cold shoe or be screwed into the handle or attachment. I have the first generation DV Rig Pro.

Yes you do.

Look under the side rail for an aluminium insert with 1/4" thread and small screw.

remove the screw and move the insert to where you need it ( top, front...)
