Cokin Filter Question.

The decimal-point notation references 1/3-stop increments.

So if you found a 0.1 ND filter, it would decrease the light by 1/3 of a stop.

Hence a .3 = 3 thirds, or 1 full stop.

If they are saying 2x or 4x, they're probably referencing how much light is decreased. Cutting the light in half would probably equate with the notation of 2x, so in that circumstance yes 2x would equal 0.3.
