Cokin filter on a GL-1

I'm going to be doing a shoot in a couple weeks using a GL-1. I'm shopping around for some Cokin P filters and I have a question. Do you need to get a different hood to be used with these filters or will the stock one work?

You can't use the default hood with the Cokin P's. They're their own thing. Unless you're using screw-on filters, then you've got to use the Cokin P adapter. There's also the option to step up to 4x4 filters, but that's an entirely different investment and totally off topic. The Cokin filters are pretty neat, I've got quite a few, but do keep in mind that not all of them are suitable for video, the speed filter for example is not suitable for video.

Thanks for that

Thanks for that

Is there another hood available that works with the Cokin P or would the only option be to make one? I'll have to look up some hood making ideas from others who've done it.

So no speed filter. Any others that won't work with video? I'm mostly planning on getting some blue and gray graduated filters as well as a diffuser and maybe just maybe a star filter just in case. I already have the UV, fog and polarizing screw ons from my film camera (they just happen to be the same size...Canon must like the 58mm size(?))
