Codec babel

hi there,
I will be shooting for 15 days with an American crew that is coming to Brazil.
My clients will bring 2 cameras, a Sony HDV and a Sony EX1.
I have a HVX200 with firestore, so, we will shoot in 3 different codecs,
DVCPRO HD, HDV and XDCAM, and there is a chance they want to cut it
here on my FCP Studio 2 station. I am thinking about turning all the footage to ProRes.
I would appreciate any editing suggestions for this codec Babel.

Yeah I'd convert to ProRes. Less important than the codec- is the frame rate. The EX1 and HVX200 both shoot 24p but not all HDV cameras do.

I was thinking also about shooting on 720p for both the EX1 and HVX200 and rescaling the HVR-V1U HDV footage in post for a 720 24p timeline.
Our final output will be SD DVD ntsc.

Yeah that sounds sensible- I'd do some tests before you shoot so everyone is on the same page for look/render times.
