Cobra Crane pieces

Hey guys. I just bought off of a DVXuser a cobra crane, second hand obviously. Everything came in today and it is great, however i think a piece is missing. I believe there is suppost to be some cable or wire that passes around both places to control the tilt of the head and to keep it stable at the far end of the crane.

Does anyone know where one could get a piece like this, are there any substitutes? Help!

Yeah, you should have got that as well. But no biggie, you should be able to get it from a hardware store. I'm not sure what guage the wire is, but it is wound wire, like that on the back of picture frames, you can probably get a 50ft roll for about 6 bucks or so. You will also need two wire clamps, to make loops at both ends, I think these come in a box of 4, and cost a couple bucks. Finally you will need a two way hook connector, basically it has hooks that screw into it at both ends, when you spin the middle part it draws to two hooks closer together, thus tightening the tension on the cable. I wish I could give you a btter description, but I do know that most hardware stores will have everything that you need. You might try looking at the promax website to see if there is a better description there.

any reason why there is a 5-8 pound weight limit? What pieces cant take more than that? I want to make this thing as stiff as possible.

Bump

please guys. I contacted promax and they said 30 bucks for a ****ing cable, shipping not included. Forget that. Thieves.

I still need to find a solution for the cable that adjusts the tilt of the camera on the crane, as well as keeping it horizontally stable.

HELP

Seriously Papa, that is what I did and it worked fine. I bought the cobra crane II+, this did not come with a shorter cable for working with it at half length. I went to the local hardware store and for $12 was able to come up with all the parts I need.

The tightening device mentioned above by Scharky is called a turnbuckle, and they're available at hardware stores in various sizes. I also suggest asking the DVXuser from whom you bought it, because he/she may have stowed the cable somewhere separately and simply forgot to include it.
