Clothing to prefer/avoid for DVX100B shoot?

Avoid shirts that are made up entirely of hundreds of small mirrors. Also skimasks or large sombreros pulled down over the face can be problematic (at least for the DVX). Generally avoid exploding ties and clothing made up of live animals which may be frightened by the bright lights. Also plaid.

ah yes, please avoid the vermin suit..... this thing makes pulling focus a NIGHTMARE

I've had no problem with white or black. Bright white and pure black. White is exposure and black is lighting. Make sure you are exposed to not blow out the white and light the rest of the scene to that. For black, it's all about rim lighting to highlight the shape of the person (or object even) that is black or wearing black.

Not a great idea, but if you were to film a subject wearing stark black pants and a white white shirt, and you flat lit the front, you wouldn't have the dynamic range to have both exposed properly. Expose for the white shirt, then rim the pants.

I like the advice to tone down the chroma in the camera and then resautrate in post--but one must be careful not to over do it. The nice part is that if your resaturation doesn't work too well, your footage will still look like old-fashioned film, which is a lot better than noisy digital.
