Closed Captioning

Hi All!

I'm all done my first broadcast music video, but have been told by the station here in Canada (Much Music) that it needs to have Closed Captioning before they'll accept it.

I've done all my edits in Final Cut Pro 5 and effects in After Effects. I also have a ton of other software from Apple and Adobe including Shake as well as Combustion. Can I do the CC'ing in house or do I have to send it out? If I can do it on my own, how?

Thanks a TON!

Ryan

Good question! I've been looking for a closed caption encoder to buy. You may have to resort to a post house that specializes in CC encoding. Perhaps there is a software solution out there someone knows about?

Well, I did a quick Google check on CC encoders. Those damn things are EXPENSIVE ($8,000+)!!! Software encoders are cheaper but still in the $1,000+ range!

Ya I've been finding the same thing; $1000 - $8000 to do it yourself. I can't believe that no one has made a plugin or add on for something like Final Cut or After Effects that will do this. Does anyone know of an solutions???
