Closed Captioning with Adobe Media Encoder

So I edit using FCPX, but when I'm done editing I'll export a ProRes file, take it into Adobe Media Encoder, and export the different file formats I need using that. The reason is because I've noticed Media Encoder is a lot faster at exporting than Compressor.

Now we're trying to do more CCing in house and I can make a script into a .scc but is there a way to encode that into a file in Adobe Media Encoder? I know you can embed .scc files in Premiere but I was hoping there's a way to do it just in Media Encoder without having to cycle through another program. I know in Compressor you can click on the file information and attach metadata before you compress your file, but I don't see that option in Media encoder.

Any advice would be appreciated!

No, AME does not allow you to embed the .scc. Personally, I think that option is one of the few things that keeps Compressor relevant.

I'd also like to add the more recent revisions of Compressor are utter garbage. They removed the "Start Movie Timecode" option, which is pretty ****ing necessary for professional captioning. and you can't even name your output movie. That being said, if you have to use compressor, don't use any version above v4.

Thanks for the info! Doesn't make sense why Adobe wouldn't allow that option when you can embed CC in Premiere, hopefully with a future update maybe if people ask for it. And yeah I can't stand Compressor anymore. If I can't export in AME I usually just export straight from FCPX. Can't really use the program while it's exporting but it'll export at a fraction of the time it takes Compressor.

Do you know of any good CC software that will also embed it into the file? I forgot the name but there's one software that will match your script to the audio waveforms and automatically time the closed captions and embed that into an existing file without reencoding. That'd be ideal but it's also $6000. If there's any software similar to this that'd help me out a ton (or I'm just asking for too much, lol)
