ok, i did some editing and now i have 10 clips on the timeline. i want to add one effect to all the clips. i tried edit-group-create new but it didn't work.
any other options ?

You add the plugin on the track's plugin "cross" icon, not in the events. It's on the very left of the track, along the other track controls.

If you want to add FX to the clips as a group and not the whole track (because adding to the track will affect anything else you put in the track), select all of the clips (you can use the Selection Edit Tool by clicking the button with the arrow inside the dotted square) and then drop the FX into the group. The FX will be applied to each clip individually.
