Clips From DVD

Hey guys,
Have a small project at work for a Meeting/Morale Booster.
I need to take some 20 sec clips from a few Hollywood movie DVDs which I purchased yesterday. If I play them from my DVD player through my Canopus onto my hard drive, will they capture ok? Iam not at home to try this, but Iam worried they will not download properly.

Yeah, I thought that was going to be the answer. Well, I will give it a try when I get to my computer. The clips were going to be imported to Power Point. Thanks for the help David.
