Clips and Audio not linked

Hi. I seemed to have done something that separates all my clips from the audio automatically when I drag them into the timeline. Even when I start a new project, this function is still automatically set up. I know how to link and unlink clips but I'd like to not have to link them every time. Any idea how I can go back to the defaulted set up where clip and their audio move together? Thank you!

Does anyone have any idea what this would be called? I'm trying to understand the directions but I guess I'm so exhausted my brain can't make sense of them. Is it called toggling or matchframe? What would be the terminology for keeping clips together with their audio when they move? I thought it was called linking but it's not addressed as linking in the directions.

Linking, track targeting and FCP's autoselect are all covered in the FCP manual. Start there.

Yea look at the manual and also think about getting some DVD training about all the functions in FCP. It would help you in the long run and answer many basic questions

Select linked selection option from edit menu or press shift+L. for link and unlink for clips select modify menu link option or press command+L
