Clip from Short film HPX170 W/ Cinemek G35

How were you able to shoot i the train station in low light. I ve been down there with a brevis and had trouble. Also how did they not kick you out like they kicked me out. Same station.

Also what did you do for color correction?

thanks

great job by the way

Pimp,

i was just wide open on my zeiss 50mm and my 135mm. not too much light down there but the g35 held up just fine. as for not getting kicked out, me, my assistant and the talent were just lucky, i shot everything on my steadicam so i could nail off shots super fast. as for coloring, its just temp color right now.

And you were on a steadicam. That takes balls and luck.

again good job. glad to see the g35 put to good work

Nice work!

Just out of curiosity, did you have to use any gain on the 170 when you were in the subway?

dmc,

I don't believe I used any gain. i shot this a while back, but if i remember correctly i didn't use any.

wow, i too am surprised by the exposure with the G35 in the station. Amazing. How were you able to pull focus while on the steadicam?

Images look great. It's too bad though, the one thing made me pick the blade over the g35 was all the complaints I've read about Cinemeks communication problems.

serious. i am shooting a feature with the g35. and i have a friend who bought an hvx and wanted to buy a g35 to help shoot b camera. After all the complaints i ve read i inquired with them about the availibility of the adapter. I never got word back.

So i dont know whats going on. Jonathan seemed like a stand up guy when i met him. Don't know what issues he is having. But i hope he resolves them because he has a great product.

DM Rider,

Thats too bad. I have had zero problems with jonathan. I think the problem is that he is running the show by himself and he has the apple app coming out as well. I think he is probably just overall swamped over there. Anyway, if you get an adapter you will be so happy with it that it will be worth the wait.

PaPa,

I am using a Bartech

I didn't have any problems communicating with Jonathan either. While I did have to wait longer than I would have liked, he was pretty forthright in explaining why (waiting for a better lens mounting pin solution).

It can be frustrating to have to wait but it's a terrific product and yes - it's worth the wait IMHO.
