cleaning inside the lens?

hey there guys/gals,

i was looking at some shots i took the other day and i noticed that there seemed to be csomething on the lens, so i cleaned it and it remained. upon closer examination it looks like there is a piece of dust behind the first element of glass, and i was wondering how i should go about fixing this, can i open the lens and blow the dust off, or should i seek out a professional(i'm hoping for thins one). also i'm curious about how it got in there.
